As most know we have been making changes in baseball to create a fairer playing field for all.  Last year there was a total of 28 kids that were true pony age.  Based on those numbers along with adding 15-year old kids we hope to have 3 teams.  Since playing the same teams over and over is not a lot of fun, we reached out to Carbondale, Murphysboro, Herrin and Johnston City to create the Route 13 League.  The league will start April 29th and end June 22nd with a tournament the following week.  We will be playing a home and away game each week.  The season will consist of 15 to 20 games based on the final number of teams we have in the league.  

During the first meeting, the four other towns inquired if we would be interested in a Mustang aged league as well.  This was approved last night at our second meeting.  We now have a Mustang (10/11/12 yr olds) league where teams from these five towns will also play one another.  Details have not been finalized other than we will play by pony association rule book for this age group and bases will be set at 70 feet and mound at 50.  Both Mustang and Pony leagues will be playing on field 3.   If you have any questions please feel free to contact Kevin or I.
